Bien Cuit

Bien Cuit is a new neighborhood bakery on Smith Street in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. The name means “well done” or “well cooked”, and refers to a baguette or loaf with a hard, thick, crust.

James Mosley’s essay Lettres à jour: public stencil lettering in France was a starting point for our research into the bakery’s identity. Signage and menus will be posted soon.
